Police Assure Tight Security Ahead of Lango vs Bunyoro FUFA Drum Clash in Dokolo

Police in the North Kyoga Region have assured the public of maximum security ahead of the FUFA Drum first-leg match between Lango Province and Bunyoro Province scheduled for Saturday, 26th September 2026.

The highly anticipated encounter will kick off at 4:00 p.m. at Dokolo Technical Institute in Dokolo Town Council, Dokolo District.

In a press statement issued on 24th September 2026, North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson SP PJ Okema said joint security teams are fully prepared to ensure a safe and peaceful match.

According to Okema, both overt and covert personnel will be deployed, with the CCTV Command Centre closely monitored for real-time coordination. Patrol teams will also remain on standby to respond to any emergencies.

Police further announced a traffic diversion on the Dokolo highway to Kaberamaido District starting Friday 25th through Saturday 26th September due to the venue’s location on the highway. Traffic officers will be on the ground to manage flow and minimize inconvenience to other road users.

The match coincides with the National Cleaning Exercise Day. Police clarified that cleaning will run from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., after which movement restrictions will be relaxed to allow fans to head to the stadium. The public has been urged to participate in the morning exercise.

Okema cautioned fans against opportunistic criminals, warning of possible phone and bag snatching, theft and simple robbery that often target large gatherings. He urged supporters to remain vigilant, safeguard their property, and drink responsibly to avoid disorderly conduct.

He called on fans, residents and stakeholders to cooperate with security personnel and promptly report any suspicious activity.

“We reiterate our commitment to maintaining law and order before, during and after the match,” Okema said, wishing Lango Province and all teams a successful encounter.
