DEPUTY INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE MAJ GEN KATSINGAZI CAMPED IN MUBENDE,KASSANDA TO OVERSEE ENFORCEMENT OF EBOLA LOCKDOWN

Uganda Police Force is mandated to enforce Ebola Lockdown as announced by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in a televised speech on 15th October 2022. By 9 am on Sunday, 16th October 2022, the enforcement of the lockdown started in full swing after a radio program.

Maj Gen Geoffrey Katsingazi addressed the media saying he would camp in the epi-centre of Ebola to make sure the security forces have resources to enable implement orders of the Commander-in-chief and Ministry of Health.

“We don’t have enough personnel on the ground but in the coming hours and days, we are going to have adequate numbers to enforce lockdown. We expect the local people to cooperate so that Ministry of health defeats the Ebola virus from spreading across Uganda”, said Maj Gen Katsingazi

Earlier, Racheal Kawala, the Wamala Region Police Spokesperson addressed the people on one of the FM radios in Mubende. She asked people to follow guidelines so that Ebola is contained, the sooner we do follow instructions we shall regain our freedoms.

She warned those people with plans of failing the lockdown to stand warned as security personnel will not allow it.
