Kibaale District Health Department Reactivates The Disease Control Taskforce

The Health Ministry in conjunction with Kibaale District Health Department have reactivated the disease control taskforce in response to the outbreak of Ebola Sudan strain in Mubende.

Dr Agrey Byaruhanga an epidemiologist in Bunyoro Sub region attached to Hoima regional referral hospital today convened a crisis meeting with Kibaale stakeholders to reactivate the taskforce following Ebola cases confirmed in districts of Mubende, Kyegegwa and Kakamiro.

Dr Byaruhanga the district taskforce is now obligated to sensitize the public on the preventive measures as well as signs and symptoms of the deadly Ebola disease.

They have also resolved to set up an isolation center at Kibaale health center IV and Information materials about the Ebola disease district will be rolled out in the communities.

Carolyn Kashaija Muyambi, Deputy RDC Kibaale says following the outbreak of Ebola in the neighboring districts of Kakumiro and Kyegegwa, the public must be alert and report any suspicious cases of Ebola to the nearest health facilities
