LC5 ABIM DISTRICT DONATE A BULL WORTH 1.5M FOR CULTURAL EVENT

Being the first day for Karamoja cultural event, local leaders in Abim district have so far been so impressive to welcome visitors from different corners including their Atekere cultural groups from South Sudan, Kenya and Ethiopia.

As visitors are expected from various places, the home district leaders were tasked by the elders to offer a bull each to be slaughtered for visitors.

According to Chairperson Abim district Hon. Yuventine Adyeda Omara in an interview with our reporter, in a meeting with the elders, he was tasked to offer one bull to be slaughtered for visitors which he presented on the first day of the event.

He said that they are expecting improvement in many infrastructures such as roads, hospital that will enhance service delivery in the district because many partners, government officials and NGOs will involve themselves in this event that started today the 30thAugust 2022 with arrival of the guest.

Omara further explained that another reason to host this event is to make peace dialogue which he believe probably will engage different elders, youth and women to see ways of restoring peace in the region and neighboring districts which he believes is a possibility.

He welcomed in advance the people who are still on their way to Abim secondary school Abim District for 7th Edition of Karamoja Cultural.

Molly Akello a business woman already at Abim secondary school to showcase her items applauded the chairperson for his offer to the visitors as the father of the district and added that no one should worry because more are still coming from home people.

Peter Lokech an elder from Kotido district said he is so happy waiting to participate in peace dialogue with fellow elders to guide Youth on how to do things that will harmonize peace within the region and with their neighbors.

This will be the most enjoyable Karamoja Cultural event as stated by organizing committee, leaders in Karamoja and people in region.
