The security team chaired by Magidu Dhikusoka the Pallisa resident district commissioner has so far recovered valuables worth 100million.

While addressing a press conference over the weekend, Dhikusoka said the security agents collaborated with their counterparts from other districts after a crackdown of 10 motorcycles worth 50million, 13 heads of cattle costing 20milion and also made the seven senior assistant secretaries who misappropriated government funds meant for rural development to refund 56 million of 74 million they were alleged to have embezzled.

“Our success was due to the empowerment we gave members of public to freely give information to security agents and they remain anonymous. But the worst sub counties with high crime rates are Obutet, Kibale and Pallisa town councils,” Dhikusoka said.

The RDC added that his team working with Patrick Duchu the district chairperson and Members of Parliament will do the community policing so that when the defiant and ruthless thugs are arrested, none of their relatives should disturb the leadership to pardon the suspects.

Richard Oseku Oriebo MP Kibale county

Richard Oseku Oriebo, MP Kibale said as a former regional internal security officer (RISO) he will not tolerate any thief in his constituency.

Oseku said the suspected thieves terrorize the community giving people sleepless nights and have forced others to share huts with their animals which is against good health practice.

“Nobody should call me for anyone killed of suspected theft because it’s not even in his manifesto to share with bereaved families of thieves,” Oseku said.

Patrick Duchu, the Pallisa district chairperson thanked the security for the recoveries and cautioned people who collaborate with thieves to drop their motives.

Duchu tasked Donato Oola Olam the CAO of Pallisa never to use transfer of senior assistant secretaries as a remedy to cover the mess.

“The district internal audits need to vigilant on finances remitted to sub counties because at the end of five years I have accountability to make to my employers who decide on my date from the basin,” Duchu said.
