The territorial police in Lira-City West Division are investigating a case of alleged aggravated defilement of a 17 yrs old Apio Filder who is a resident of Blue Corner by Ogwang Martin Luther 72 yrs old and area Local Council one chairperson (LC1) of Blue Corner South, Lira-City West Division.
This report was registered at the police by a concerned citizen on the 26th September 2022, it’s alleged that the suspect has been having sexual intercourse with the victim several times.
A case file was registered, suspect arrested, statements recorded from the victim, suspect and relevant witnesses, police form 3 and 24 was issued to the victim and suspect respectively.
According to the police statement seen by karamojanews, the position of the suspect as LCI and his health status has made made the police to charge him with aggravated defilement.
The file of the accused has been forwarded to Resident City State Attorney for perusal and advise before arranging him to court.
The police statement further appealed to members of the public to be very observant of what happens within the community and report to the police any suspicious behaviors.
